Spent a very quick half an hour in school today and caught 10 minutes of the Pontyclun's Got Talent! Just from my quick 10 miutes, we have indeed got lots of talent...although I hope that the "full monty" isn't used too often!
As school finishes for the summer tomorrow, this will be my last visit this term. It has been another busy, facinating and challenging year. I would like to thank the Head and all staff for their hard work during the year, and hope they have an enjoyable summer.
I wish Mrs Thomas, Mrs Coles and Aunty Dorothy every happiness in their retirement and hope they pop in occationally to see us.
Finally, I wish all the children a very happy and healthy summer and look forward to seeing everyone in September.

Year 6 Leavers Concert - 12th July 2010
One of my favourite school nights of the year - the leavers concert. I really enjoy the show and the effort both they and the teachers put into writing their leaving poems/ songs, although it makes me feel very old as I remember lots of them being born!
As usual the evening was very succcessful and I wish all the children the best for their move to seondary school - and am sure they will make us all proud.

Finance Committee - 7th July 2010
Final financial catch up before the end of term. Discussion about necessary maintainence work required on the buildings and the impact that this will have on our finances.
Presentation to Headteachers - 2nd July 2010
Was invited by Headteachers in Bridgend to talk at their conference on the new inspection framework. I was asked to talk for 20 minutes about the inspection from the governor's point of view. There were about 60 people present and I spoke about how we had felt as governors prior, during and post inspection and also my personal thoughts about the Chair of Governor's interview. The talk appeared well recieved and I can't have bored them that much as I have been asked to speak to a few individual governing bodies since!
Junior Sports Day - 25th May 2010
Had hoped to attend Sports Day this afternoon, but unfortunately I got stuck in work. However, I enjoyed loooking at the photos on the web!
Interviews - 27th April 2010
Spent all afternoon in school today interviewing for a new infant teacher.
Finance Committee Meeting - 13th April 2010
Very relevant meeting - especially in these difficult fiancial times. Historically the school has always been prudent in managing its finances and we have have remained within budget over many years. We plan to remain in this position - whist ensuring that the children are educated in the best environment and with the best resources we can provide.
Full Governors Meeting - 2nd March 2010
Another long meeting tonight - I think I'm going to get a reputation for keeping people late! However, discussed many important issues relevant to helping the school run effectively and efficiently.
